Ricardo Marganon

With over 35 years of experience, I began carving as a hobby in Costa Rica, where my passion for art, nature, and especially love for birds started. Specializing in custom pieces, I create unique, meticulously handcrafted wood carvings.

Beth Britton

As a female veteran and woodturner, I transform raw wood and resin into handcrafted functional art that reflects discipline, precision, and craftsmanship. Working primarily on the lathe, I create finely crafted pens, kitchenware, and other everyday objects that celebrate the natural beauty of wood while being made to be used and enjoyed for years to come.

Each piece begins as a simple block of wood or resin and is carefully shaped, sanded, finished, and assembled by hand. No two pieces are exactly alike, allowing the unique grain, color, and character of each material to become part of the finished design. My goal is to create objects that are as beautiful as they are practical, bringing handcrafted quality and lasting value to everyday life. With every project, I continue to refine my skills and honor the satisfaction that comes from making something both functional and enduring.

I am retired from military service and enjoy the creative outlet that wood-turning provides. Although I put a lot of love and careful thought into each piece, I also believe that the wood decides what it wants to be. I wish to be promoted as FiveOakes Lathe Turned Woodcrafts, made in Northern New York with locally sourced and exotic woods.

Laurie Picchi

Our passion for wood crafts was founded by a retired carpenter’s love of the beauty, grain, texture, and visual appeal of different hardwoods. Our creations are unique, beautiful, practical, and crafted from the heart. No one else creates the cutting boards and other designs we offer.
